Hi everyone, I originally joined the forum back in 2013 but was away for quite a long time but have become quite active again so thought I'd post here.
I first really got into The Cure around 9 years ago, I was so surprised that they were playing in Australia in 2007 but was a bit too young to go although I did get to see them in 2011 for Reflections and I'm extremely happy to say that I'll be seeing them again this year this time with my boyfriend who I met through a mutual love of The Cure.
I hope everyone's been well and it's been fantastic to be back especially with all the excitement of the current tour.
Best wishes to all of you and I hope you'll all be seeing The Cure soon .

Hey violetsometimes You were gone?! Forgive this old mind of mine but I don't recall you ever leaving us, you been so active this few days that I didn't realize that you had come back. We all get lost at times..(life happens) but to me a cure fan will always and forever be a Cure fan.

Welcome back..
I was gone for over two years or more I think. I still loved The Cure, bought a few of their records, wore Cure shirts and listened to their music a lot.I followed a little bit of what they were doing in that time but other hobbies and interests prevailed for a while. I spent my spare time and enthusiasm talking about and participating in those! Life got in the way a bit too, I moved to a big city away from my family to study Psychology (I'm still studying it now and living in the big city and worked a lot, spent a lot of spare time with new friends or going to events based around the hobby.Right at the beginning of this year I was in ER and was then sent to short stay for a few days due to illness and it gave me a lot of time to think about what was important to me and I realised that the hobby I was in, I wasn't very interested in any more and the community was not very nice. I also decided to make life a bit simpler and focus on spending time doing things that made me happy. When it was announced that The Cure were coming back it was really the perfect opportunity to leave the old hobby behind and something very exciting to look forward to.
Thank you very much and I feel the same way about Cure fans and that they are wonderful people .
