Saw this, got a minor stroke and bought it here in Barcelona!
Do I have any the Cure friends here in Barcelona - text me with your best tips for eating and shopping far away from that horrible Rambla!
Stay away from the Rambla.
Sadly, Barcelona has become a thematic park for tourists in the last ten/fifteen years or so. You are not going to find very good places downtown, as everything is about cheap tourism, as you are already suffering. Stay away from food in all that area. Downtown has very interesting places I still like such as Barrio del Born, el Raval and el Barrio Gótico, but as I said, tourism is ruining it all pretty fast. And August is the worst month of the year to be there.
Try another areas as "Barrio de Gràcia", "Sarrià", "Eixample" and even "Poblenou".
If you like graveyards, there is an interesting sculpture at Poblenou cemetery, The Death Kiss:
First Wave on Sirius totally spies on me. I'm sure of it. Every day I am on my way to and from Work they play a Cure song. This morning it was Close to Me and on the way home....drum roll please.
My partner and I stopped for a bite to eat last night on the way home, I was wearing a Cure T-shirt which the guy who seated us definitely clocked. A few minutes later "Friday I'm in Love" played in the background. A happy coincidence maybe but I'm going to pretend it was for my benefit 😁😁😁

Forgot to share this earlier, but the Dr. Martens shop in Glasgow has The Cure's Greatest Hits on their jukebox and Boys Don't Cry played while I visited the store the day before the Glasgow gig. (And judging by the employees I talked to, seemingly half the staff was attending the gig)

Can confirm the Edinburgh shop also played the Cure, as I heard Inbetween Days when I picked up a pair of new shoes (tossed my ratty gig chucks after the show, ruined by the mud!)

Funny, I was at the one in Glasgow to buy new boots prior to the gig so I wouldn't completely ruin my almost ruined gig chucks!
