This morning at my local station there was a contest that mentioned our boys. The radio station gives three clues where contestants have to guess the name of the Artist or the Band that the clues are given for. Prices include Concert tickets and a change to win a car!! This morning contest first Clue: "This artist was asked by THE CURE to open for them in MONTERREY, Estado Universario (Mexico) in 1992 but declined the invitation because it was stated that the artist was working on their next record and had deadlines. (on a site note I was like-Come on man! its THE CURE- Who wouldn't want to open for our boys!!) Long story short and after wrecking by brain all day trying to figure who would dare pass up the opportunity to open Robert I found out who it was!!. Take a look at the link and let me know if you can spot the similarities!!
Mr. K and I went out for our favorite local ice cream last night. They were having their annual birthday celebration where they keep decreasing the price of a scoop until all flavors in the shop are sold out. It was such a happy vibe with balloons, music blaring, a line out the door, etc.
As we neared the counter, the third to the last flavor sold out, dropping the price of two scoops to $0.50! What was playing when this happened?
Close to Me!
Everybody in line was dancing and we both got our ice cream for just $1. Beautiful.
Got this 'can you recognise the bassist' quiz as an add on FB and took it because I was bored and guess who showed up!
Apparently Simon was the most difficult one as he was the only one the majority didn't get right.
Sidenote: I somehow managed to get 10/10! I will admit that a couple was lucky guesses, but I was surprised at how many I actually recognised.
Is that him with that yellow thing? No surprise that he was the hardest to get...jeeeeez...looks like Mark King! Actually...in this light, he just looks like a terrified goldfish...Good shot Faith!
Today is (in fact yesterday was, it's far after midnight) the 30th anniversary of unforgettable massacre on Tian'anmen Square but also the 30th very happy anniversary of the first free election in Poland. They changed everything, the communism started to fall here that day and all that happened without a drop of blood shed. Among many memories from those days presented on TV there was one which brought a very wide smile on my face and my own memories. Guess which song was on the top of the best ever independent music chart the day before the elections?
And my memories from those days, the most important and vivid for me despite all the incredible things which were happening around, are those of a 13 years old girl I was then, running through the rain to buy suddenly miraculously available album called Disintegration. And then nights and days spent on listening to it, on admiring and devouring every sound and every word. Those are days which made me who I am.
But I don't see And I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes Your smile
I mistook stars reflected in a pond at night for those in the sky.
So here is a map of the most Wikiepied people in the UK by city. Of course I looked up Blackpool first and No, it's not Robert. It is some actress Jenna somebody. BUT then I looked at Crawley and guess what? haha And check above it near Horley as well.
