Any handy tips on travel? Able to give someone a ride? Got any accommodation suggestions? Or maybe you have space on a sofa for the night. If you fancy helping out other gig goers, here's the place to post & make contact with other members heading to the gig
Let's see if finalsound lands tickets too. I'm sure once more folks snag them, more options will arise. I started a travel thread here so fingers crossed. Plenty of time yet. I'll add you to the list too
Transportation to Merriweather is difficult, unfortunately. Where are you coming from twochordcool?

I'm in central New Jersey, so I can get to Baltimore or the airport, no problem, then maybe to 'Laurel' and have found local buses that go to Columbia Mall, nearish the stadium. No transport at night though.
As to where to stay ??!! The nearest hotel is Double Tree Inn (fully booked on Booking.com!!!)

Here is a listing of nearby hotels to the venue: www.google.com/maps/search/Hotels/@39.2089487,-76.8801822,14z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m8!2m7!3m6!1sHotels!2sMerriweather+Post+Pavilion,+10475+Little+Patuxent+Pkwy,+Columbia,+MD+21044!3s0x89b7dfa4855a3b51:0x25973cf4fdc1cb9f!4m2!1d-76.8626726!2d39.2089501
I know transportation is rough, could you rent a car? also Uber could be an option.
I will be in the same boat -- coming in from NYC after the 20th and going on to Atlanta, but haven't booked accomodations yet in the Baltimore area. That will probably depend on what kind of transpo I can find.
Any info on that Rally Bus? I clicked the link but it just went back to the venue. I'd be interested in sharing costs -- uber/car rental/ etc. Or if someone's got room in their car, I'll pitch in on gas.

It would be so perfect if you would just fall out the window

I would recommend staying in Columbia Maryland, should be cheaper than Baltimore, and closer. Also, should have cab service to Merriweather, and maybe bus service.

The rally bus does a pick up/return to Baltimore Penn station, but is not confirmed unless 25 people book, so I have opted to stay nearer columbia, in an Extended Stay at $120 which is 10 mins by taxi from the pavillion
Have got Amtrak to Baltimore Airp[ort, public bus then to Pavillion and Hotel.
I'm away from home till end of feb so haven't got all the details with me, but there are regular bus services that pass the hotel and pavillion at $2 per ride (I think)

Changed my booking for the night, got an Airbnb room just 10 mins walk from the Merriweather, so saves using taxis and it is just one bus ride from the BWI Amtrak station.
BUT spotted this on the hosts comments:
"My neighborhood is very quiet. Honestly, just about everything in this town is quiet by 9 pm unless there's a festival or concert going on; even then, all is quiet by 11 pm due to the noise ordinance"
Oh Dear! Has anyone told His Bobness, do't want the plug pulled during the 4th encore!
Ha! I think the last few Cure shows I've seen they've had the plug pulled due to curfew! I'd forgotten about AirBnB will have to check that out. Is Columbia a safe area? I.e. can a single female walk back from a concert at night? I've driven through parts of Baltimore that were pretty sketchy even in the daytime... looking at Columbia on the map it's hard to tell.

How are you travelling Spiralcure? I'm taking Amtrak to BWI, avoiding Baltimore. The airbnb I've booked says its for one guest, but I can check. It's around 10-15 mins walk apparently.
Just checked your profile, we have the same birthday! Yeah! But I'm an old lady so probably not the same year!

Compared to Baltimore, Columbia Maryland is pretty safe, much more suburban.
