In 2000 they were going to play after Pearl Jam. But a tragedy happened at PJ's concert where 9 people were crushed to death. I had just said bye to my friends (they like The Cure but I am a fanatic) to get up front for the next concert - with The Cure. So as I was going up front the music suddenly stopped and all I could see was the singer of PJ waving and crying his heart out. The Cure cancelled, of course. Later the truth came out that 9 people had died just a few feet from where I was standing. Surreal. The next days most of the major bands cancelled as well. None of them came back the next year except for The Cure. They came and closed the festival with a low key concert. I came back as well - although I had forsaken to ever go to that place again. But maybe it was good for me to be there again, guess it helped dealing with the trauma. So a big thank you to The Cure for doing this - a lot of us needed that.
I wasn't there, but when I listen any Finsbury Park 1993 recording, I have no doubt that would be "my" favourite. Personally, I enjoyed a lot New Orleans 22/05/00 (my second concert)

It was a great line-up, The Cure set felt really short though and it was a bit strange without Porl Massive crowd!
