Hey freakazoids! Finally have some updated news for you regarding the new release..i know i said originally it would be a solstice release but technical difficulties made it impossible to hit that date..there were problems on the artwork side as i wanted to make the packaging/artwork/cover really special as befitting an album with this monumental amount of work involved ...you know how high my sta...ndards are! There was also a delay in the mcps pressing.licence (every release has to be licenced nowadays) PLUS I had to just take a short holiday,my second one in 20 years..i hope I'm forgiven! Heheh ???? All has been resolved now and the big wheels are in motion and i can give you the FINAL official release date - 31st JULY..As promised,I'll be setting up pre-orders as of next week so those who want the first batch can get in quick..there is also a good chance I'll be doing a collaboration with plazmalab t shirts which means I'll be offering a chance for a double pkg..brand new album with brand new killer t shirt..I'll keep ya posted on that front..massive apologies for the delays but the chance to have and to make happen, the collab with Robert Smith just had to be,as it was a once in a lifetime magical opportunity! It might have been a long wait but 24 brand new tracks took some fudging doing,i can tell ya! ???????? I will say though ,this is THE most STATIC album i have ever done..and the one i been the most happiest with..thank you for your undying love and patience..xx
A SUPER SPECIAL NEWS FLASH FOLKS!! ROBERT SMITH (THE CURE) HAS COLLABORATED WITH EAT STATIC FOR A TRACK ON THE NEW ALBUM!!! Many of you have been asking about the release date/album delay and I told ya something special might happen..well,after many years of attempting to make this a reality,i can reveal that the stars were finally aligned and Robert is singing and playing 6 string bass on a bran...d new Static tune- ''In All Worlds...'' He has been a long time fan of Static and I have loved the Cure since 1981 so this happening is a BIG deal for me...and he's done an AMAZING job! We're now full steam ahead on getting the album done and dusted so I hope to have it out around the end of May! It'll be worth the wait i hope! BOOOOOOM!!
Risking upsetting folks here, but RS has a spotty track record on duets. The Blank and Jones "A Forest" was okay, but I think the only good collab was with Reeves Gabrels on "Yesterday's Gone":
The Blank & Jokes thing was awful. The best collaboration was The Glove. & then Cogasm & in all honesty, why is he now picking a second rate electronic, car alarm sampling piece of cr@p like Eat Static?
well, me thinking the same as you about such crappy collaborations and instead doing much better things like albums, dvds, re-releases BUT (not meant negative) Robert for sure is giving a sh*t about what others may think he has to do. I think he is just doing what he wants to do and don't care about what he said in the past and what fans would like to do him. Realising this i've stopped complaining about the things he does (and doesn't) as none of us has any influence on that.
