Exhausted! Just finished my first exam of the term a couple of hours ago. It was a multi day home exam which is generally the exam form I prefer, but some professors need to make a reality check about how much is possible to do in the time they give us for the exam.

Do you at least feel the end of the term is now imminent? What are you studying?

Sort of, I guess. I have another exam in about a week, but I'm also working on my master's so even when the term has technically ended I still have things to work on. All that said, I look forwards to a couple of weeks with less stuff to do I'm studying to become a teacher (grades 8-13) with English as my main subject and Political Science as my secondary subject.

Cool! I have a Masters in Special Education and used to teach that same age range, but math.
Sigh, I miss writing papers and doing research. Good luck to you, nothingleftbutfaith!

Saw a four-piece girl band tonight - all LA attitude, glitter and big rocking riffs, lots of fun. Had a quick chat with them at their merch stand after and someone took a photo of us. Having seen the photo, I now feel so very, very old. 😱

Was the band like, "Aw, let's have our picture taken with that cute little old man?"

I found out last night that one of my favorite former math students from nearly 20 years ago across the country by 1,000+ miles is practicing the same career I now am (not teaching). I'm dumbfounded we both ended up in the same unusual career. I can remember being at her 12th birthday party (what amazing kind of kid invites their math teacher to their 12th birthday party?) sitting across the table from her father as he offered me a bucket of fresh chicharrones.
the holidays, nasty steroids & failing health. the chemo has stopped working so going on to a new thing end of january. have to wait to get the old plan out of my system. the lone bright spot is not having to go into work feeling like this anymore. it's going to be a brutal few months.

Chemo? Jeeeez I had no idea chuckrh...I know I know I know that we get hundreds of health opinions and religious opinions and psychocosmic thoughts thrown our way at these times. I know. But here's one..dead easy and nothing to lose...ancient Chinese wisdom here..
tuck the chin in...keep the crown of the head raised. Tuck the pelvis and do not allow the spine to slump. Breathe trhough the nose and deep in to the belly as it were. You can PM and ask why or you can just do it...in traditional martial arts the practice was just done..these days we need to know why...there's a reason why and we don't need the reason...it's an easy enough thing to do...but I get it that these days we need to know 'why' so do PM if you need to know the 'science' behind this.
I don't mean to intrude chuckrh...this is sent with a full heart X
