So here is my pet dilemma. The BF and I are going away for one day on Wednesday. Overnight to a swanky hotel and we are going to see The Fixx. The lady I board my dog with is nice. The kennel is clean but she has two big rules. The dogs has to have all of her shots including the kennel cough and NO groomer or vet two weeks before the dog stays there. So I took Daisy (my dog) to the groomer about one month ago. Ok no problem. However a few days ago she started having diarrhea. I tried to get rid of it but no dice. So I called the vet and asked if he could just prescribe something for her without me taking her there. He refused. He absolutely wanted to see her. This little trip is costing us $1200 (the hotel and concert). So I being the honest person I am have to tell the kennel lady the above. I KNOW she is going to make me cancel and I'm going to blow a gasket but I cannot, not tell her that is dishonest. The doctor told me it's definitely food related. No illness. No parasites. No infection. It is probably the damn BBQ brisket my BF gave her on Sunday. We told him and we both got scolded for giving her people food. He said it's definitely that. Any advice?

Ugh, this is tough. I would tell said kennel lady exactly what the dr. told you about it being food and not a communicable disease. I would then provide the dr.’s contact info and and tell her she can feel free to communicate directly with him if that would be useful. Of course, if she allows pups to keep the reservation a nice tip or gift would be a kind gesture, especially if someone still has the runs.
Wot @notkristie said basically. If she's in the business of caring for dogs for people off on jollies, then she must be aware that sometimes they get sick. I'm sure a confirmation from the vet that it's not communicable would be enough. That's assuming you did take her in to be prodded.

I took her and he said it's definitely something she ate. No infection. No parasites. Nothing. Probably the BBq BF gave her. He scolded both of us and said "This is why I say not to give dogs people food. IT messes up their systems for a week."

So.... how did this all turn out? Did your pup get boarded at the usual place? Hope it all worked out for you, and that the show and hotel were great!

Yep! sang I was honest and the kennel lady just quarantined her. I had to tell her. She was appreciative of my honesty. Daisy is doing fine. I also showed her the vet's diagnosis that it was definitely food related. She has her kennel on a massive farm with individual runs so Daisy was just in her own little run (chasing her chickens as usual) but just not with the other dogs.
The Fixx were absolutely awesome! Really they were. I highly recommend going to see them. Cy's voice was fabulous and they have really updated their sound. Very tight. He is an absolute showman too.
The B&B was also fantastic! It is set in the rural area of New Jersey. It was built in 1792 so lots of old American charm. The staff was great. There are sheep that live on the property, mom and her kids. No Ram. The staff actually live in the Mansion and the chef who is fantastic bakes these cookies for the sheep. It was really hot for the last two days so the sheep weren't coming out. One of the caretakers gave me some of these sheep cookies. He told me to wave them in the air and yell "I have cookies" I did and they all came running out. Apparently these homemade cookies are like sheep crack. hahaha Here are some pics. The close up sheep is Lucy one of the kids.
