Just came home from the Siouxsie gig. I’ve had so much fun, met some old friends, and the concert was very good. She obviously has some voice issues, but it is ok. Never been a massive Sioux fan, but I like some of her classics very much. Glad I went to see her tonight.
Warpaint were also very good, but the audience wasn’t into them at all, unfortunately.
Next concerts: Monday 7 August: in Belgium, in Lokeren (near Gent), @ "Lokerse Feesten" (with Placebo also on the bill) Thursday 31 August : Malaga, @ "Cala Mijas" (with Arcade Fire also on the bill) Saturday 2 September : Lisboa @ "Meo Kalorama" (with Arcade Fire also on the bill)
Siouxsie in on the frontcover of Mojo magazine, in the September issue. There is an interview of Siouxsie by Jon Savage, an interview of Steven Severin by John Robb, plus two other articles.
In October 2023, The Rapture is reissued on Translucent Turquoise double vinyl for National Album Day in the UK (release date: 14 October). It is also available in Europe through all the usual retailers
I knew about Mantaray, I didn't know she was going to tour, missed that. The Rapture album looks great but all these bands vinyls reissues empty the bank account. As forSiouxsie's voice live, you may (not) want to check Cocteau Twins live improvised lyrics, which were sometimes brilliant, but often so 'embarrassing'!

A film about guitarist John McGeoch (the man behind the riffs of "Spellbound") is in preparation: Johnny Marr, John Frusciante, Johnny Greenwood, Ed'Brien are to feature in it.
A crowdfunding on Kickstarter has been launched to finance the documentary, with goodies available, and rare personal items owned by McGeoch.

Your post inspired me to listen to Juju this morning for the first time in a long time. That album is a special banshees one largely, IMO, due to McGeoch's playing. I actually think of the idea behind "the light pours out of me" in regards to creativity a lot after reading that quote. It's deep.
An an aside, the fact there are no females (although that concept in and of itself isn't really relevant anymore, I guess) listed amongst those featured is bunk and makes me mad.

I do wish Johnny Marr would just go the feck away. He popped up on the Blondie documentary I watched the other day & gets just about everywhere. He is fast becoming as irritating as Damon Albarn. & Frusciante is one of the worst guitarists to ever live. McGeoch did something nobody could replicate. Everything he did shouldn't have fit in what he did it in. But somehow it did. Perfectly.

Siouxsie is to feature in it, her first interview in 10 years.

Maybe Johnny is uninspired when talking about certain bands, but he has always said clever things about John McGeoch's guitar playing.
