I actually like the new single. It's him I can't stand. I am usually able to separate the art from the artist but I still wouldn't buy it. Having said that, enjoy.
My best before date for Mozz is 2011 and I bowed out with 2 very strong shows. Johnny Marr is back in circulation, plays the old stuff and comes across as very genuine. Also, his new stuff is much better so win-win

My best before is 1984 After that even Marr bought into the asshat mentality.
I was reading over there what Moz says a few days ago. Simply, I can't believe it... Maybe something lost in translation? Argentinian promoter cancelled the show in Buenos Aires for the next year... Not a big Morrissey fan, but I grew up listening to him (as many of us).

His post-Smiths CV is pretty much impeccable, good taste in collaborators , always adds something but doesn't overshadow. Also, this is a stone cold classic slab of indie:
.. and when it comes to The Smiths, he's never going to hit the vocal in the same way but he knows how those songs work, unlike the other guys band..

I didn't really care much for first Electronic album or the The The collaboration, but I did like the second two Electronic albums (and I don't think it had much to do with Marr's contributions, but maybe it did).
His jangly guitar style just seems sort of nondescript when he's playing with other people.
The Smiths songs don't seem right without Morrissey singing.
I never geeked out about the guitar playing in The Smiths. It was always Morrissey that was the big draw for me.
