I never really got the attraction to it. It was always a filler. Nothing more. What's it about? & what is it with the hat?
Hi Steve, the uplifting sound would never fit or make it to Disintegration, but I think soundwise it could have been a Wish-song.. Second your question. Wouldn't know what it is about, don't think it deals with a person we deal with afterwards or too late. My guts say it could be a feeling we're after and we're trying to describe in front of someone, not finding the words so our thoughts are always too late..it's the closest I get, but lyric-wise, it's not the strongest song.
I disagree and definitely not a Wish song, it has Disintegration plastered all over it... Bonus track? SHould have been. One of the best Cure songs ever recorded...
I agree it's not as dynamic as some of the others they have never played live but I enjoyed the one at TCT anyway. I must say if it is about death and obituaries it has mighty happy music attached to it. Or is that the joke? lol It could be about stalking too. He wishes he could be with her but he is always too late?
I always thought it was unrequited love - someone the singer waits to see every day but never speaks to, hence the hat being 'straight away' cos theyre walking past and then away from the singer.. Sweeter than stalking but not too far away!
