Papercutz is a Portuguese band born in 2005 in Oporto formed by Bruno Miguel and with the participation of the U.S. and Melissa Veras Francisco Bernardo1 2.
In 2008 appear in the compilation New Talent Fnac highlighting new Portuguese artists chosen by Henrique Amaro, the national broadcaster Radio Antenna 33. That year released their first album Lylac the editor of Canadian Apegenine Recordings. One of the themes of the album won second prize in the International Songwriting Competition. The judges included Tom Waits, Robert Smith, among other notables 4.
In April 2009, win a prize, regarding the category "Off the beaten track", in The People's Music Awards ceremony which took place in London. In the jury were part Annie Nightingale (BBC Radio dj) and Emre Ramazanoglu (associate producer Lou Rhodes) and the producer of XFM Eddy Temple-Morris 5 and 6 premium "Ones to Watch", an initiative of the International Myspace in partnership with Vodafone being the first Portuguese band to achieve this reconhecimento7.
Following a series of concerts in Portugal and passing out at SXSW festival in Austin, Texas 8 in 2010 to launch a new edition Across The Mirror (Lylac Ambient Reworks) by English publisher Audiobulb Records9 arises.
The band spent the year 2011 in New York where he worked with producer Chris Coady (Beach House, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV On The Radio) and are preparing to release a new album this year 10.
